I have a confession to make. I, a sex blogger, have never really been a fan of the We-Vibe Tango.

*crowd gasps*

I know, I know. I will be pleading my case shortly in a review of the Tango, but until then, let me tide you over with a review of the Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator, which, at first glance, is a cheaper and a better dupe for the Tango.

Opinions in Use

The packaging for the Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator is thankfully minimal. Whilst not without plastic, it’s not overpackaged – one of my bugbears when it comes to toys.  The bullet vibe comes with an instruction manual and a charging cable. I got the colour Cherry.

The feeling of the Exposed Nocturnal vibrator is different from anything I’ve felt before. It has a matte finish and feels smooth in my hands, but it has a different texture to many of my other toys made from ABS plastic. It’s as if there’s almost a texture there.

On to the orgasms!

I am a self-confessed power queen, partially due to medication/sensation loss, partially due to habit. Softer vibrations don’t tend to work well, and usually, leave me frustrated.  Along with the Avant Pride P1 G- Spot Silicone dildo (review coming soon), and a little bit of FemDom porn from Kink.com, the Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator gave me 5 orgasms in just under 10 minutes. That’s not something I’ve experienced in years!

However, by the end of my orgasm fest, I had a problem. My hands would not stop tingling. The vibrations are so strong that they stick with you, and I must impress anyone with sensory/nerve issues to keep that in mind. I have a feeling that this is going to be another one of those toys my partner handles more than I.

Before I move on, I need to address the noise. I have some hearing loss in my lower tones. This toy is rumbly, buzzy, and rather low-pitched. According to my partner, by itself it’s quite loud, to me it doesn’t seem so. Used under a thick blanket or quilt the toy seems almost silent.

Positives of the Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator

  • Body-safe: The Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator is made from ABS plastic and is body-safe and phthalate-free. It can be used with all types of lubricant (just be careful about getting non-water-based lubes on the silicone top). However, I’d recommend using water-based. Silicone lube is a pain, and a toy covered in silicone lube can slip everywhere!
  • 5 speeds, and 5 different patterns: I do commend the variety contained within the Exposed Nocturnal. The 5 speeds essentially range from strong, to really super strong. The patterns are pretty standard, in that you have a rising intensity short buzz to a long one and repeat, constant short buzzes, faster short buzzes, three short buzzes and one long, and one that I can only describe as a mix of content low to high speeds.
  • I’ll talk more about the buttons later, but the best bit about the Exposed Nocturnal is that if you click off your favourite mode, the plus and the minus buttons will ensure you’re back to it with no problem. Blush, thank you for saving me from cycling through again, and again, and again.
  • Waterproof: According to the box, the Exposed Nocturnal vibrator is ‘IPX7 waterproof’. To me, that looks like a code for a new iPhone. Basically, using the vibrator in the shower, and cleaning it in the sink is fine, but going snorkelling, or having ‘me time’ with bath bombs, candles and the Exposed Nocturnal is not recommended.
  • Affordable Raw Power: Holy smokes. It nearly jumped out of my hand! The power in this little bullet vibrator is immense, and I am impressed. Upon turning it on my whole hand started to vibrate, and did so for a good minute or so after turning it off. If I haven’t gotten the point across yet, this bullet vibrator has power. It almost makes me think it’s on par with my Doxy Die Cast. There are strong vibrators from the get-go, and for that, I tip my hat to you, Blush Novelties. For $32 this level of power is astounding.
  • Discrete: The Exposed Nocturnal is the type of vibrator that you could leave out, and no one would take a second glance at it (unless they’re a sex blogger). It doesn’t look like a vibrator. Considering my partner and I can’t really spot sex toys, and I have a tendency to leave them all over the house, it’s pretty handy.

Negatives of the Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator

  • The Light/The Buttons: When attempting to turn the  Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator off, I have no clue which button I’m pressing because I can’t see the buttons due to the on light. They’re indistinguishable. I ended up fumbling around and pressing the wrong button. The plus and minus signs are really hard to see, and also hard to feel when the toy is on. It would have been better to have the signs raised instead of sunken.
  • The buttons themselves aren’t easy to press, and whilst I am all for branding, the Blush branding takes up space that could be used for bigger buttons. There’s plenty of space for bigger buttons, and it really would have made this bullet vibrator, at least for me, at 10/10.
  • Hard to Hold/Intense Vibrations: I will admit I’ve ended up in a bit of a panic trying to turn the toy off on more than one occasion. That’s not something I want to deal with, especially post-orgasm.  Combined with the intense vibrations, this toy is a lot. If you prefer to start off with slow vibrations, the Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator is not the toy for you. If you’re also new to bullet vibrators, it might be best to give this toy a miss until you figure out the intensity of vibrations you like. But, for $32, it’s not a terrible toy to experiment with.
  • Charging Cable: I can safely say I’ve not seen a cable quite like it. It took a good minute, which turned into five minutes, to figure out how to connect it. The Exposed Nocturnal suffers from a problem a lot of magnetic charging toys seem to have is that placing it on the table disconnects the charging dock. However, the cable is strong enough if you dangle it over the side of a bedside table to stay connected and carry on charging.
  • Size for Compatible Dildos: Unfortunately, the Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator is just a little too big to fit in most harnesses and bullet compatible dildos. It’s such a shame because the power from this bullet vibe would be perfect for dildos, but what can you do.

Accessibility

From an accessibility point of view, the Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator isn’t the best. The main positives are that it’s body-safe, phthalate-free, rechargeable, and gives deep rumbly vibrations for a low cost. All great things. However, the negatives, at least to me, far outweigh the positives.

  • The vibrations are so strong you can feel them for quite some time afterwards. They also encompass your whole hand and wrist.
  • The buttons are hard to distinguish due to the ‘on’ light. They’re also small and don’t stand out.
  • The charging cable is finicky, and it seems the design doesn’t add anything useful.

Conclusion

Positives

  • Body-safe & Phthalate Free
  • 5 speeds, and 5 different patterns.
  • Waterproof
  • Affordable Raw Power
  • Discrete
  • Choice of 4 colours.

Negatives

  • Too big for Bullet Compatible Dildos
  • Intense Vibrations
  • Hard to Hold
  • Charging Cable
  • Small Buttons
  • On light obscures buttons.

If you’re looking for a bullet vibrator that’s easy to handle and control, I’d give this one a miss. Whilst it will stay in my rotating toy collection, I won’t handle it often. I am still looking for that elusive accessible bullet vibrator; maybe one day, I’ll find it.

If the positives of the Blush Novelties Exposed Nocturnal Lipstick Bullet Vibrator are to your liking, then you really can’t go wrong. It’s affordable, powerful, rechargeable, body-safe, and has multiple modes with two buttons! For $32, you can’t beat the price. It makes the We-Vibe look lacking, and overpriced.  I’d even go as far as to say it’s one of the best bullet vibrators I’ve tested so far. It will now be taken from my test box and placed on my bedside table.

The lovely people over at Peepshow Toys gave me this toy to review in exchange for an honest review. My review will always be honest; if I don’t like a toy, I will tell you.

  1. Yes I totally agree with EVERYTHING you just said about the blush lipstick vibrator. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to use mine in over a year now because I misplaced my charging cord and haven’t been able to find the right replacement. I’ve ordered 2 different ones off of Amazon as well as called the Adult Store in which I purchased it at to see if they carried it. So, my question to you is if you know where I can purchase the cord for this product or even what type it is with like the size and all I would really appreciate it cause I really do miss the little guy for sure!!! Thanks!!!
